Investigation of the interaction mechanism of quartz and silicon carbide in various gas atmospheres

The influence of various types of gas atmospheres on the kinetics of the SiO2 + SiC reaction is considered. The reaction was studied in isothermal experiments at 1700 °C in a high-temperature furnace in an atmosphere of argon, hydrogen, Ar-CO gas mixtures and Ar-H2 gas mixtures.
