The article discusses the assessment of flooding on the Ob river near the city of Nizhnevartovsk. A flood is a significant flooding of the area adjacent to the river or lake which causes material damage, damage to public health or leads to death. Therefore, one of the most important tasks of the development of the city of Nizhnevartovsk is the reduction of flood risk.
