Аннотация: The article considers the theory of competency-based approach, which is the methodological basis for the implementation of state educational standards of higher professional education. The central place in the article is occupied by the concept of “competency-based approach”, the introduction of which in education helps to improve the quality of training of professional specialists. The analysis of the concepts of "competence" and "competence" and their relationship. The meaning of the concept “content of education” is revealed.
