Аннотация: This article examines the impact of remote work on the video game development industry during the Covid-19 pandemic. While many industries struggled to adapt to remote work, the video game industry appeared to have an advantage due to the digital nature of their products. However, this study found that the transition to remote work caused significant delays and disruptions for many companies, resulting in postponed releases and financial losses. The methodology used in this article is a mixed-methods approach. The author analyzed data from two sources: earnings call transcripts from the 25 largest global video game companies and collaboration data from a globally representative sample of Global Fortune 1000 companies. They categorized the transcripts to identify instances of release delays and developmental challenges in each call, allowing them to compare pre- and post-pandemic conditions. This mixed-methods approach allowed the author to gain insight into the challenges faced by the video game industry and to identify strategies to avoid similar mistakes in the future.
