Аннотация: This article examines microbial fuel cell technology as a promising method for simultaneously removing organic pollutants from wastewater and generating clean electricity. The relevance of this research is driven by the global energy crisis, growing environmental concerns, and the high energy consumption of traditional water treatment methods. Particular attention is paid to the operating principle of microbial fuel cells, the role of electrogenic bacteria, the design of the anode and cathode chambers, and the feasibility of creating a working prototype from readily available materials. The paper hypothesizes that the use of microbial fuel cells will effectively combine biological wastewater treatment with the generation of electrical energy sufficient to power low-power sensors and monitoring systems. The problem of insufficient reliability of data on simple microbial fuel cell designs presented in popular science sources is also highlighted. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of this technology, analyze the obtained electrical parameters, and determine the prospects for its application in real-world conditions.
