Аннотация: This article analyzes economic sanctions as an instrument of foreign policy that affects international trade and business behavior through mechanisms of coercion, deterrence, and compliance risks. The paper examines the functions, effectiveness criteria, and temporal effects of sanctions — from short-term disruptions to long-term technological decline.
