Аннотация: The article presents a study of qualitative characteristics that reflect the procedural side of the methods for solving problems associated with empirical and theoretical types of thinking. As a result of individual experiments with third-graders, the features of solving problems using the method of empirical thinking and analytical, reflective, synthesizing methods that characterize the levels of development of theoretical thinking were shown.
