The concept of sustainable development and international security

This study is aimed at analyzing the connection between the concept of sustainable development and a new form of international security. The paper presents the process of developing the concept of sustainable development from a historical perspective, reflects the main outcomes of the United Nations conferences on environment and development and compares protective and sustainable safety concepts. The methodological basis of the work is the analysis of international legislative acts and studies on this issue. The article shows the advantages of the security model, specific for a sustainable development society, and the necessity of its adoption is proved.
