Measuring the development of English-language professional-oriented reading techniques of specialists for the judiciary as an effective tool of professional training

Аннотация: The article is devoted to the problem of the application of pedagogical monitoring the formation of English-language professional-oriented reading techniques in future specialists for the judiciary.
The research was conducted on the basis of the North Western branch of the Federal State Budget-Funded Educational Institution of Higher Education “The Russian State University of Justice” (St. Petersburg). It is emphasized that text comprehension is determined by the type of medium (paper or electronic).
The indicators obtained in the course of the conducted pedagogical monitoring devoted to the study of the formation of the skill of reading texts from paper and electronic media are compared, their dynamics is studied.
The results of the conducted experiment of undergraduate and specialist students of the first year of the Faculty of Law are presented.
In the course of the study, it was found that: when reading professionally-oriented texts from paper and electronic media, different metatechniques of text analysis are applied; differences in cognitive mechanisms are also observed.
