Аннотация: The article is devoted to the problem of the relation between a person’s intellect and verbal ability. It examines the coordinated functioning of the human brain and speech organs. The extracts taken from D. Keyes’ novel exemplify the influence of the developed intellectual capacities on the speech abilities.
