Solid hydrogen as a breakthrough in hign-pressure physics
This paper reports on the statement of physicists from Harvard University that solid hydrogen exists. Producing metallic hydrogen has been a great challenge in physics for decades. The scientists attempted to make metallic hydrogen by pressing liquid hydrogen between two diamonds at a low temperature. We outlined the process and challenges in creating a solid material, analyzed possible future contributions.
