Аннотация: The article is devoted to the issue of digitalization of education. Various approaches to the definition of “digitalization of education” indicate that at the moment there is no single understanding of this term. The article provides some definitions of this concept and highlights the main point. The prerequisites for digitalization are considered, the basic principles of digitalization of the educational environment are highlighted, and the positive and negative aspects of digitalization are identified. The article presents a European model of digital competencies for education, on the basis of which an assumption is made about the prospects for the development of "digitalization of education" within.
